Dizajn vychádza z princípu naznačenej technológie – vrchný kryt z tvarovaného plastu jemnou modeláciou reaguje na vnútorné rozloženie komponentov a vytvára mäkkú „topografiu“ nad riadiacou jednotkou, čerpadlom, filtrami, rozvádzačmi a spektrometrom s kapilárou. Technológia nie je priamo odkrytá, no jej prítomnosť je stále čitateľná.
Vybrané prvky sú naopak zámerne priznané: výrazný červený zväzok káblov vedený po povrchu a viditeľný vzduchový filter vytvárajú kontrast medzi hladkou formou a technickým detailom.
Trojité hliníkové dno funguje ako presná technická platforma — zapúšťa jednotlivé komponenty, stabilizuje ich polohu, odvádza teplo a chráni systém pri manipulácii. Kontrast medzi matnou základňou a vysoko lesklým povrchom krytu podporuje sochársky výraz objektu a zároveň zdôrazňuje jeho technologický charakter.
Dizajn spektrometra postúpil do užšieho výberu Národnej ceny za dizajn (NCD).
Spectrometer design for MaSaTECH, developed in collaboration with architect Ondrej Zachar.
The design works with the idea of suggested technology — a softly modelled plastic top cover responds to the internal layout of the components, creating a subtle “topography” above the control unit, pump, filters, distributors and the spectrometer with its capillary. The inner structure is not openly exposed, yet remains visibly present through gentle surface cues.
Certain elements are intentionally left revealed: the distinctive red cable bundle routed across the surface, or the visible air filter, create a deliberate contrast between the smooth shell and its technical core.
A triple-layer aluminium base serves as a precise engineering platform — it houses the individual components, stabilises their position, dissipates heat and protects the system during handling. The contrast between the matte base and the high-gloss top cover strengthens the sculptural reading of the form and highlights the technological identity of the device.
The spectrometer design was shortlisted for the National Design Award (NCD).
